stuff 99% of you probably don't care about :-P
Yesterday, I patched up my second wounded teenager in the almost-year I've worked at our library. I ended up improvising with a paper towel just so she could stop bleeding on her ripped jeans and so dirt wouldn't get in. Turns out she needed to get 10 stitches, youch! I'm glad I was there, the last time a kid got hurt the clerk on duty told him there wasn't anything we could do for him. I STILL fume when I think of that!

I'm really looking forward to being able to shift my nonfiction. I know, not something you usually hear but dammit it gets me away from my desk!!! I really am debating taking some desk hours, but my availability changes constantly, so some days it would get in the way while other days it wouldn't. I also really need to start writing down who I talk to about certain things--need to contact a school about an upcoming visit, but am hesitating because I'm not sure who I was talking to before! Silly me.

Need to eat dinner and then shop for storytime craft supplies and birthday presents. Oooh and once [info]redwings42 is awake we can open the giant box in the middle of the living room!

See why I don't update? ;-)

I know that most people behind the desk at a library aren't registered nurses or anything, but it is really mean to tell anybody who is hurt, that you cant do anything. More so if it is a kid. I mean most people are capable of getting a wet paper towel and finding a band-aid to at least help until someone more educated about wounds arrives. I'm with you things like that, just upset me.

Giant box? What is in giant box? The masses (me) demand to know.

Oh yeah it ended up being the bread maker. Now I HAVE to clean 'cause I know everyone at work will be expecting bread and there's currently no room to set it up! lol

They're supposed to be. I wasn't actually the one who wanted it--one of Lee's friends had one in college that he has good memories of, so he'll be making all the bread!
